Interview Process

Selected candidates participate in the Fellowship interview process.

Instructional Bootcamp and Training Seminars

Fellows begin focused instructional sessions and collaborative preparation.

May 25,
2026

Field Placements Begin

Virtual and in-person internship assignments begin in the United States, Africa, and the Caribbean.

July 19–
Aug. 1, 2026

Fellows’ Delegation to Accra, Ghana

The 2026 Fellowship delegation visits Accra for an immersive international program experience.

Dec. 1,
2026

Field Placements Conclude

Fellows complete their assigned internship and field-placement experiences.

  • Letter of Interest
  • Curriculum Vitae or résumé
  • A personal statement describing your interest in the Garvey–Nkrumah Fellowship and how your experience or expertise will contribute to the program’s collaborative nature
  • Two letters of recommendation, including one from a faculty member at your home institution
