Important dates for the 2026 fellowship cohort.

October 1, 2025 – March 31, 2026 Application period for the 2026 cohort
February 2 – March 31, 2026 GNF interview process
May 18–22, 2026 Instructional bootcamp and training seminars
May 25, 2026 Field placement (internship) assignments begin — virtual and in person
July 19 – August 1, 2026 GNF fellows delegation visit to Accra, Ghana
December 1, 2026 Conclusion of field placement (internship) assignments

Field placements: Assignments will be available in the United States, Africa, and the Caribbean.

Please prepare the following materials before beginning your application:

Letter of Interest
Curriculum Vitae or résumé
A personal statement describing your interest in the Garvey–Nkrumah Fellowship and how your experience or expertise would contribute to the program's collaborative nature
Two letters of recommendation, including one from a faculty member at your home institution
